Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had spacious and clean rooms, but they felt a bit tired, with some flaky paint and very stained carpet. The bathroom was small and basic, needing some attention. Despite this, the room was comfortable. The service was a mix of lovely interactions and some rude and unhelpful encounters. The location was excellent for accessing the town center and amenities. The dining experience varied from poor quality to traditional meals. Overall, the facilities were functional. Pricing and value were based on location and services provided.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Pantiles and the railway station, making it easy to explore the town. While the rooms were spacious, they lacked some essential furniture and could benefit from a proper clean. Despite these minor issues, I am informed that we will be returning soon.
The Tunbridge Wells Retreat presented a mixed experience. The rooms were tired and in need of upgrading, with peeling paint and condensation stains, but the reception area was clean, and the staff were friendly and informative. The breakfast was enjoyable but with some room for improvement.
Upon arrival, I found the hotel's location to be extremely convenient, just a short 5-minute walk from the train station, making it easy to explore the city center and nearby attractions like The Pantiles and Spa Valley Railway. However, there were noticeable issues with the room, including stained carpets and slamming bedroom doors. The friendly staff made up for some of these setbacks, but the overall room experience was not up to par. The hotel's dining options were satisfactory, with hot and tasty food available, though not exceptional. The facilities, while not outstanding, were adequate for a comfortable stay.
The hotel's location was excellent for access to the town center and various outlets, but the overall aesthetics appeared run-down. The rooms had both positive and negative aspects, with comfortable bedding but signs of wear and tear like peeling paint and stained carpets. The service was friendly and helpful, although it didn't match the room quality. The dining experience offered a good standard of meals but had some room for improvement in terms of presentation.
The hotel's location is brilliant, close to town and convenient for everything in Tunbridge Wells. The rooms, although dark and in need of some maintenance, were okay with a small shower. The service was lacking friendliness but acceptable in dealing with guests. The dining options were excellent with a good variety and value for money. Overall, a decent hotel with some room for improvement.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, despite being labeled as Deluxe, could use some improvements like a loose toilet roll holder; they were not in the best condition and felt overpriced. On a positive note, the service was kind and accommodating, providing breakfast as compensation for a mistake. The location was excellent, close to various attractions, though the experience was marred by a pushy attempt to overcharge. Dining offered a variety, but some items were subpar.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the church and reception, making it perfect for our event. The rooms were nice with a very comfy bed, though some updating would be great. The service, after 3 attempts, was friendly and polite. Dining offered good options but had some issues with cooked breakfast items. The location was very good, easy to move around, and close to the town center. On the downside, the free parking was not as advertised.
The hotel offers a mixed experience with both positives and negatives. The rooms had a feeling more akin to a very low-end guest house but were surprisingly spacious, although the uneven surfaces were a downside. The initial issue with the shower was promptly resolved by moving to a different room.
